A multitude of brightly clothed attendees gathered in the heart of Ethiopia's capital for the traditional gratitude celebration over the past days.
The festival is observed by the Oromo people, the biggest community, and occurs at the completion of the land's primary monsoon period.
Each year, celebrants gather around revered water bodies to show appreciation to their divine beings for the lush vegetation that the precipitation have delivered.
"I've attended this celebration for the past nine years," mentioned young adult one attendee.
"For me, the celebration represents my heritage, it reflects the honor and significance of my community."
Gentlemen, women, the elderly and the young all take part, adorned in attention-grabbing attire and accessories.
They sing, perform traditional dances, exchange narratives and arrange newly gathered grass and floral arrangements in the water - representing existence, renewal and hope.

This festival does not only attract individuals from all regions of Ethiopia, guests travel from globally.
"I visited a year ago - it was wonderful, so spectacular, I brought along my kids with me this year," said one visitor, originating from abroad.
"It's wonderful. Everyone greets you, everyone offers affection and says welcome."
