Paramount Skydance Set to Remove Around 2,000 United States Roles – Report

Paramount Skydance will start significant workforce reductions during the week starting 27 October, eliminating approximately 2,000 American roles under a budget-saving initiative worth $2bn overseen by new chief executive David Ellison.

These job cuts are a result of the merger of Skydance Media and Paramount Global, which closed during August worth $8.4bn.

Additional global layoffs are expected, as the firm aiming to reveal full details in its third-quarter financial update scheduled for November 10.

Previous updates had indicated the company aimed to eliminate between 2,000 to 3,000 jobs by early November.

As of December 2024, the company retained about 18,600 workers on full-time and part-time contracts plus 3,500 temporary project employees.

Paramount Skydance has not yet commented on the matter.
