Discover Twenty-Nine Latest Game Cards from Magic: The Gathering's TMNT Expansion (Including a Commander Deck!)

Everyone's beloved pizza-eating heroes are arriving to Magic: The Gathering. The popular TCG's company, the game's creators, unveiled a much-awaited Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles expansion during a special event held at New York Comic Con. Could this be a radical addition or simply another Universes Beyond marketing move? We'll let you decide.

Take a look here at everything revealed from the Magic x Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles set, along with key context. Everything mentioned below releases on March 6th, 2026, with one exception — a special Pizza Bundle arrives a couple of weeks after on March 27.

MTG x TMNT: Core Set Cards

Before we get into the many unique products and bundles available, let’s take a look at all the cards from the main Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles expansion unveiled by Wizards. Play boosters for the set are set at $6.99 per pack, while Collector Boosters are priced at $37.99 per booster.

Let's unpack a couple of shell-shocking features. First, there's a new mechanic named Sneak Attack, which is a riff on the already established Ninjutsu ability, in which gamers can play big creatures into the game field when an attacker isn’t blocked. The key change in this case is that Sneak can affect spells that aren’t creatures too. The designers also took the opportunity to clean up the ability a little (Sneak is treated as playing a spell, as opposed to Ninjutsu). Ninjutsu is staying, but it's more likely players will encounter the new mechanic in upcoming expansions from now on.

Should we were to return to the Kamigawa plane, we might use the original ability because that's where it was developed and it is iconic of that world,” a senior game designer explained. “However in other settings, because the mechanics are smoother and Sneak will be in standard, it's more likely we’ll use the updated version.”

Another version of Leonardo, Sewer Samurai, is among four special cards with special art created specifically for the expansion by Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles original artist the co-creator.

Oh, and, if you're shocked by the card text on Turtles Forever, which lets you play game cards that aren't in your main deck, so was I. But as per the developers, that's now a official card in every format of Magic.

Anyway, below are the highly unusual land cards with full art from this set:

Following the company’s current policy, all these cards are fully legal in Magic’s Standard play. The designers state they took care to ensure the cards and mechanics worked smoothly with other Standard sets like Edge of Eternities.

“I led the design for 15 months and we were aware it was going to be in standard and what other sets were going to be alongside it in standard,” a lead designer says. “Our goal was to make sure that they work well with certain expansions including Edge of Eternities.”

For example, each of TMNT and Edge of Eternities feature a blue-red archetype focused on artifact cards.

“They combine to provide the pieces for a enjoyable Standard deck,” he added.

Commander Deck: Turtle Power

After declining to create any pre-constructed Commander decks for the Spider-Man set and the forthcoming Avatar: The Last Airbender collaborations, Wizards is changing direction with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. This time it’s just one precon, but it does come with six distinct legendary creatures who could work as your commander based on how you combine them (five cards have a special partner ability called “Character Select” that lets you start with two commanders in the command zone instead of just one). Take a look for yourself:

The Turtle Power deck is priced at $69.99, though that could easily go up based on demand. Sources told that it includes 43 new cards in total, which translates to an additional thirty-seven TMNT-themed game cards in addition to the six legendary commanders pictured above. (Doing some rough math, this suggests about 20 reprints if we assume the precon includes 37 lands.)

What will the Turtles version of Sol Ring appear? Fans must wait and find out.

TMNT Bundle (Standard Edition)

Typically, Wizards is selling a collection. This one is priced at $69.99 and includes the listed items:

  • 9 Standard Boosters
  • Fifteen Foil land cards
  • 15 Non-foil land cards
  • Two Reference cards
  • One Traditional foil promo card
  • One Large spindown life counter
  • One Card-storage box

Pizza Bundle

This is a unique concept for the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles set, mostly in that it is packaged in what looks like a pizza delivery box. Every Pizza Bundle costs $99.99 and includes the items below:

  • Nine Standard Boosters
  • One Premium Booster
  • Twenty-five Regular pizza lands
  • Five Foil pizza basic lands
  • Two Traditional foil pizza bundle promo cards
  • 2 Reference cards
  • 1 Large life tracker
  • 1 storage box

If you’re wondering what a “pizza bundle promo” is, it’s basically a reprinted older card with all-new TMNT art. Wizards revealed an example for the popular Magic card Dark Ritual featuring art of Splinter adding black licorice pieces on a pizza. There are six different Pizza Bundle promo cards in total.

The Pizza Bundle launches a few weeks after the main set on March 27, 2026.

Draft Night

This special bundle is designed for a four-person draft and costs $119.99. That will get you:

  • 12 Standard Boosters (ideal for a group of four to play draft)
  • One Collector Booster (also known as, the reward for coming in first)
  • 90 Regular basic lands (to build your deck)
  • Ten Non-foil double-sided tokens
  • 1 Draft insert (a one-sheet instruction sheet to drafting this expansion)

Turtle Team-Up

Lastly, the developers are doing something new with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles as in line with its ongoing effort to develop Magic products specifically for new players. Here, the cooperative set is a unique product of decks that allow two players join forces against a “Boss” deck that plays automatically.

The concept is that each Boss card grants special abilities to the creature cards contained in the Boss deck. The Boss automatically casts one other card per turn, and you’ll start off fighting {one Boss|
